Thank you for shopping with us at Devlin Food Company / Simply Seasoned (referred to as “we”, “us”, “our”).
If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help, please read this policy carefully as it explains your rights and how we handle returns, refunds and replacements.
1. Your Legal Rights
As a consumer in Ireland purchasing online (a “distance sale”), you have certain statutory rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and related legislation. Among these rights:

The cost of returning goods (in a cancellation scenario) may be your responsibility only if we have clearly informed you in advance. If we did not, we must bear the return cost.

For faulty or mis-described goods you have additional rights: repair, replacement or refund under the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980 (and EU law) for at least two years.
Please note: These statutory rights cannot be excluded by our policy; our policy offers additional or complementary terms.
2. Returns, Refunds & “Change of Mind” (Non-Faulty Goods)
When you simply change your mind about a purchase of food/spice products:

Because our products are perishable food items/sealed consumables, we may limit or exclude the standard 14-day cooling-off right if the goods are opened or not in a resalable condition.

If you wish to return unopened goods and the items are eligible, you may request a return within 14 calendar days from delivery.

To request a return, email us at [your email] with your Order Number, date of purchase and reason for return.

We will confirm whether the return is accepted and provide the return address.

You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods unless we stated otherwise at point of sale.

Once we receive the goods back and confirm they are in resalable condition, we will refund you the purchase price minus any original shipping cost and minus the cost of return shipping if agreed. We will issue the refund within 14 days of receiving your request or the goods (whichever is later) as required under Irish law.

Refunds will be made using the same payment method used during purchase.
3. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods
If the item you received is faulty, damaged in transit, or not as described:

We will assess the problem and either repair, replace, or refund (at our discretion) the product.

If the goods are found to be faulty or mis-described we will cover the cost of the return shipping.

Refunds for such cases will be processed within 14 days of acknowledgment of the return and we will refund the item cost plus the original standard shipping cost.
4. Non-Returnable Items & Exceptions
Because your product range includes perishable/food-type goods, the following apply:

Items that have been opened or used are not eligible for a “change of mind” return for hygiene/safety reasons.

Customised or personalised orders (if/as applicable) cannot be returned for “change of mind”.

If goods deteriorate due to incorrect storage after delivery, we may not accept a return.
5. How to Return an Item

Wait for our confirmation email with return instructions and address.

Pack the goods securely (original packaging recommended) and include your Order Number.

Ship the goods back via a trackable service (for your protection) and keep your proof of postage.
6. Refund Process & Timing

We aim to process refund requests as swiftly as possible.

For eligible returns, we will refund you within 14 days of either: (a) our acknowledgement of your cancellation, or (b) receipt of the returned goods, whichever is later.

If you used a credit/debit card for payment, the refund will be made to that card; bank transfer refunds may take additional days depending on your bank.
7. Shipping Costs & Refunds

If you cancel an order before dispatch, we will refund the full order amount (including any shipping you paid).

If goods have already shipped, you may still cancel if eligible (see above) but the original delivery cost may not always be refundable.

For genuine faults we cover the return shipping and refund original shipping costs.
8. Our Right to Reject Returns

We reserve the right to reject a return if the goods are not in the condition required (e.g., used, opened, damaged by you).

If we reject a return, we will contact you and you may collect the item or we may return it to you at your cost.
9. Additional Information

This policy and your statutory rights are governed by the laws of Ireland.
